faces of democracy
ActionAid took part in the Salone del Libro with #vivicrazia, an interactive experience developed and designed by Bellissimo.
From May 9 to 13, 2019, the international organisation for Human Rights, ActionAid invited visitors to the Salone del Libro in Turin to take part in a group project within its own space.
An application allowed the public to create, via a smartphone or with
tablets made available, their own avatars in comic strips, choosing from the styles of five famous Italian illustrators, and then to answer a survey on the most urgent challenges for democracy.
The faces in the comic strips and the responses of many participants were shared in real time on social networks and on a dedicated video wall. The result is a large digital poster, that also went online after the Book Fair, which invites people to take part in civic life and to reflect together on the values of democracy.
Bellissimo devised the concept of the initiative and designed the digital application, created in collaboration with the web studio Tandù from Turin.
The development of the visual identity of the initiative and the various formats required by an all-round communication strategy, was an additional area where our studio brought added value.
The graphics team followed step by step the creation of the graphic elements used to make the faces, coordinating the work of the following professional designers: Tuono Pettinato, Gianluca Costantini, Sara Colaone, Takoua Ben Mohamed and Giulia Sagramola.
Lastly, our studio built the stand and installations and looked after the overall experience of the public – a role of great responsibility, given the large turnout that characterises the event.
